First DLG Certified Air Scrubber fitted in UK

In the summer of 2020, JF McKenna began work on the first poultry site in the UK to be fitted with an Inno+ Air Scrubber. Our decades of experience was vital in the smooth running of this project during the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic.

This two house site, which produces over 100,000 birds per crop for Maelor Foods, is based in Powys, Wales. It is owned and run by farmer Gary Mountford & family. With a background in dairy farming, this was their first venture into the poultry sector. When deciding which supplier to invest in, Gary choose JF McKenna based on the quality of equipment & standard of service provided, concluding that they were the right fit for him and his project.

The partnership delivered the first DLG certified Air Scrubber for Broilers in the UK. The certification has been trialed and tested to deliver reduction in ammonia and dust of over 90%. Results also indicate a reduction of odor by over 40%.

The concept, design and delivery of the project was completed in conjunction with Knights Construction Ltd, Powell & Co. Construction Ltd, and David Iwan Jones Electrical Contractors Ltd. All works were carried out ensuring all Covid-19 regulations and guidelines were followed.

Birds filled these two houses at the beginning of February 2021 and since then everything has been running exactly to plan. The Mountford’s are very happy with how the project was run, the quality of the equipment and installation, and the level of commitment and ongoing support received from the JF McKenna team.

We wish Gary and his family the best of luck in their future in Poultry Farming.
